CAM's annual EXPO takes place on February 12that the Suburban Collection Showplace. The EXPO begins with its annual Economic Forecast Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on February 12th, featuring keynote speakerEric Lynch, CBE, Economist at the National Association of Home Builders.Registration includes breakfast, the presentation, and post-meeting presenter meet-and-greet on the EXPO show floor. Limited seating is available.
CAM is pleased to welcome Jerry Darby, Vice President, Campus Planning, Development and Design, Henry Ford Hospital, as the keynote speaker for our Annual Meeting on February 12th. Mr. Darby will discuss HFH's $2.2 billion expansion plan, anchored by a new, state-of-the-art hospital facility. The inauguration of new Board members and the Project Achievement Awards will be announced at this meeting, taking place during the Great Lakes Design and Construction EXPO.
Men's Doubles Classic Bowling Registration Now Open!
Now in its 74th year, the annual Men's Doubles Classic event is one of the most popular social events of the year. A yearly average of 360 bowlers have enjoyed this fun-filled day at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park. Grab your bowling shoes and get ready to roll on February 22nd—it's bound to be a strike-tacular day!
Trash Happens: Plan Ahead for Commercial Enclosures
Designing an effective trash enclosure is vital for maintaining cleanliness and efficient waste management in commercial buildings. Troy Dee at Runco Waste Systems provides tips and best practices, including site selection, overhead clearance, and concrete pad specifications to ensure easy access for waste collection. Important design elements such as wall height and gate width are also highlighted, along with tips for accommodating multiple waste streams.
The Construction Safety Research Center invites construction safety professionals to a free three-hour Tailored Incident Investigation workshop on Tuesday, January 14th, at Lawrence Tech University. The workshop will cover Incident Repetition Challenges, Root Cause Analysis, Tailored Investigation Protocols, Human and Workplace Factors, and more.
