The 2026 Great Lakes Design & Construction EXPO was a great success, welcoming over 1,300 attendees and 120+ exhibitors to the Vibe Credit Union Showplace (formerly the Suburban Collection Showplace) in Novi on Tuesday, February 3rd.
The event featured five educational sessions and an Economic Forecast Breakfast, where Fan-Yu Kuo, Senior Economist at the National Association of Home Builders, shared insights on Michigan’s construction outlook, market trends, and the growing impact of data center development.
CAM’s 140th Annual Meeting included a keynote from gubernatorial candidate Mike Duggan, who, under the theme “Moving Michigan Forward Together,” discussed economic challenges, urban revitalization, and the need for clear standards on data center development.

Applications are now open for the CAMSafety Achievement Awards, presented to CAM member companies, categorized by hours worked and ranked gold, silver, or bronze, based on maintaining an Experience Modification Rate below 1.0 and reporting recordable injury and illness rates below industry averages. Applications must be submitted by March 15, 2026.
WCAA Hosting Outreach Event for Contractors & Businesses
The Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA) invites local and national construction contractors, subcontractors, and concessions owners to its upcoming outreach event on Monday, February 23rd, at Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi. The morning session will focus on construction projects, while an afternoon session will highlight concessionaire-related opportunities. Registration is required and will remain open through February 19th.
On Wednesday, March 4th at 10:00 a.m., a hearing is scheduled to receive public comments on proposed changes to Construction Standard Part 25, Concrete Construction. These rules are being amended to increase employee protection from hazards associated with concrete construction activities. Comments on these proposed rules may be made at the hearing, by USPS mail, or by email.
