 ESD Annual Dinner Celebrates Engineering Excellence

 The Engineering Society of Detroit hosts its 2026 Annual Dinner on Tuesday, June 23rd, at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi. The program will feature the Horace H. Rackham Humanitarian Award presented to Frank Venegas, Jr., Ideal Group; induction of the ESD College of Fellows Ali Abolmaali, PhD; Shawn P. McElmurry, PhD, PE; Tricia Ruby; and Michael B. Stewart, MSE, JD; and the Diamond Member Award. 

The ESD Construction and Design Awards will recognize the U-M Leinweber Computer Science and Information Building, Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park, and Pine River Solar Park. Both members and nonmembers are welcome to attend.

 Construction Angels Assists Families After Workplace Tragedies 

The Construction Angels scholarship fund provides financial assistance and educational support to the children and spouses of construction workers who have lost their lives while on the job. Created to help families navigate the long-term impact of a workplace tragedy, the organization offers scholarships, emergency assistance, and ongoing support services designed to help surviving family members move forward.  The deadline to apply is approaching—submit your application by July 3rd.

 The DTE Energy Efficiency Program for Business helps contractors reduce project costs and increase value.
